Morimoto

URL:http://www.morimotonyc.com/
Date:10/28/08
Meal:Dinner
Overall:Pretty good (^o^)
Summary:Fancy smancy Japanese cuisine
Top Dish:Toro Tartare

Tips: Make your reservation on Open Table; it's a pretty good sized restaurant so you should be able to get a table. Morimoto is a beautiful facility, take some time to look around the bar area and check out the restroom (esp. women's restroom). Chef Morimoto was in the restaurant in person the night we went. Our waiter told us that he's there often and usually walks around to talk to customers. Keep on a lookout for him when you go!

Toro Tartare
w/cavier and different dippings
Creatively presented in a rectangular shallow box, the different dippings are quite yummy.
Rating: Incredible! \(*O*)/

Sashimi Course
Hirame, I think...
Rating: Pretty good (^o^)

Sashimi Salad

Oyster Foie Gras
One of the highest rated dishes on Yelp
However, was awful that evening probably because of bad oysters
Rating: Awful, awful, awful!!! (X_X)

Foie Gras Chawan Mushi
Creamy and yummy!
Rating: Pretty good (^o^)

Sushi Course
Watch out for the extra wasabi already on the fish!
Rating: Decent (n_n)

Some sort of a transition melon drink between courses
Similar to the sorbet in French cuisine, this drink is refreshing and prepares our palette
Rating: Pretty good (^o^)

Lobster, beef cheek and eggplant?
Rating: Pretty good (^o^)

Sweet Potato Cake w/Vanilla Ice Cream and Red Beans
Rating: Decent (n_n)

Soft Chocolate Ganache w/Black Sesame Dipping
and White Sesame Ice Cream

Rating: Pretty good (^o^)
